Our Story
After the murder of beloved singer Hacaaluu Hundeessaa in June 2020, growing unrest, and continued human rights abuses in Ethiopia, State of The Horn was created to foster constructive dialogue amongst the diaspora. The Horn of Africa's geographical location holds strategic importance, yet remains a fragile region. Due to its fragility, our region has served as a playground for destabilization, conflict, and good governance. We seek to look within, and begin brainstorming African solutions to African problems. State of The Horn is a launchpad for honest conversations, with promoting solutions at its core. Through community town halls, open forums, and dialogues, we seek to educate one another, promote peace and reconciliation, and move towards collective healing.
